Make Johnny Mock’s Auto Body Shop Your Choice for Pittsburgh Collision Repair
We work with all insurance companies and are a direct repair facility for the following companies:
In Pennsylvania you have the right to have your car repaired at the repair shop of your choice. We hope you will choose Johnny Mock’s for all your auto body repair needs.
Our Nine Steps to Complete Collision Care
To determine the initial cost of repairs, one of our estimators inspects your vehicle for all visible damage that was caused by the accident. You will receive a customized computer printout detailing the repairs. Your estimator will review the printout with you so that you completely understand the repair process. Always remember that Pennsylvania law lets you choose the Pittsburgh collision repair facility you want to work with. At Johnny Mock’s you will work with the same estimator throughout the entire process of your car repair.
The estimate is reviewed by your insurance company to determine if the vehicle is repairable. Once approval is received, necessary parts will be ordered and the repair process begins.
Disassemble & Damage Analysis
The technician starts by removing all parts in the damaged area and inspecting them for additional damages that may have not been visible during the initial inspection. This is what we call damage analysis. The estimator and the technician then determine all repairs needed to return your vehicle back to pre-accident condition and order any special order or additional parts.
By law, insurance companies are required to pay to have your vehicle returned to pre-accident condition. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts can be used for repairs, or, your insurance company may recommend the use of alternative parts. Alternative or Recycled parts, referred to as LKQ (Like Kind and Quality) are remanufactured parts that are repaired by a qualified recycle facility and returned to replacement parts quality. After Market parts are are manufactured by someone other than the original vehicle maker. When these parts are being used for car repairs, make sure to ask if the parts are Certified Insurance Quality. This will ensure that you are receiving a high quality replacement part.
It is the shop’s responsibility to make sure that only High Quality Certified Parts are being used. At Johnny Mock’s, your estimator will review and verify all parts needed and decide which parts are available and cost most effective. You and your insurance company will be kept informed of which parts are being used to repair your vehicle.
Today’s automobiles have a one piece inner body structure, also referred to as unibody construction. This engineering standard makes the car much safer to drive. At Johnny Mock’s, our unibody straightening equipment uses a computer-based measurement tool to structurally re-align your vehicle. This allows us to return your vehicle back to the same specifications that it was when brand new from the factory.
Once the inner structure of your vehicle is returned to factory specifications, our technicians begin the realignment of exterior body panels and the straightening of the damaged outer body panels. The body repairs will be checked to make sure that all gaps between the panels are correct and the straightening of the outer panels meets with the high standards of Johnny Mock’s Auto Body Shop. The vehicle is now ready to enter out paint department.
At Johnny Mock’s Auto Body, we guarantee that the paint used in our collision repair in Pittsburgh will match the factory finish of your vehicle. To help return your vehicle back to the factory finish we paint all parts off the vehicle, which allows us to duplicate the factory process. Once the replacement and repaired panels are color coated, a clear coat application is applied. This process is called color blending and ensures an undetectable paint match. At Johnny Mock’s Auto Body we guarantee your paint finish for as long as you own your vehicle.
Our environmental standards are a source of great pride at Johnny Mock’s Auto Body Shop. We use the latest water-borne paint technology in our Pittsburgh collision repair to reduce airborne pollutants. Health and safety for our staff and the environment have always been a top priority.
When the painting work is completed, your vehicle is ready to be reassembled. The parts will be reinstalled making sure that all moving parts are operating correctly.
Cleanup & Delivery
After repair and painting are complete, your vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and road tested before delivery. Before returning your vehicle to you, a supervisor will go through a 34 point checklist to assure that it is in pre-accident condition. When you arrive to pick up your vehicle, we will go over it with you and review the repairs as documented on your final repair bill.
